Since 1987, Ground Water Science and its predecessor have been assisting Tate-Monroe with wellfield biofouling on wells that had declined by that time when compared to their original performance, including biofouling testing and maintenance analysis with recommendations, rehabilitation protocol planning and well cleaning project evaluation. Work included a detailed analysis of complex problems, a three-year research study financed by the AWWA Research Foundation, and detailed well cleaning plans that provided good results.
Effective control of the recharge area helps to assure that harmful contaminants do not enter the well, especially for wellfields with little protection from surface contamination.
